Vibrant Economy

Red Lake has a very vibrant and bustling economy.  The local economy is based on mining, tourism, and wood resources.  Balmertown is home to one of the world's richest gold mines, which is the area's largest employer.  The area is also home to many resorts and lodges, specializing in fishing, hunting, or canoeing.  There have also been efforts to pursue value-added forestry.
